Reki may not have won the race, but seeing Adam face-plant into the mud was priceless. And even though he lost, the crowd is still… chanting his name? Cheering for him? Acknowledging he exists?
Him.
Not the redhead.
Not the one who isn’t Langa.
Reki.
It’s a first. And honestly, it feels pretty damn good.
At least it does until a hand grabs the neck of his hoodie and rudely yanks him out of the fetal position he’d curled up in.
(Or: I wanted a bit more from the ending of episode 11 and couldn’t find anything that scratched the itch so I tried to write it myself)

Summary
Reki has never had it easy but he has always managed to find the good in the world through skating. Of course things start to go down hill after his mother up and bails, leaving him behind to deal with his abusive father. Then he gets on the wrong side of the one skater that he shouldn’t. Sure he meets some new friends, but how does he handle juggling the repayment of the lost beef, the debts of his father, and a struggling mother who needs to feed his sisters? Not to mention his confusing feelings for the social awkward Canadian that looks like a damn snack?

Summary
Reki fell all the time. it was a rite of passage in skateboarding, and a very regular occurrence.
Of course, he tried to avoid falling as much as he could- but it wasn't really possible to completely avoid falls, so he at least made sure to get back up every time.Sometimes though, he would think about what it would be like to let himself fall. Give in to the exhaustion he normally fought through, and go out with the specific intention of falling. A fall he wouldn't get back up from.
This was one of those times.
