Cain stared out at the Nightclub, observing the rest of the people there. His eyes narrowed on Amaria as she walked out with a hand pressed to her forehead. She seemed more at peace lately, but with the way her shoulders were drawn up he could piece together that something might be off.
He didn't think twice before he followed her out. He doesn't regret it.

Summary
They’d been through a lot, all of them had. Everyone had tried to deal with the events in their own ways, and Cal found that keeping himself occupied and his mind clear helped him the most. Being able to extend that help to others only motivated him more.
He knew Cain operated on a similar method. Lots of working, keeping busy, fixing things. Being idle didn’t suit either of them very well. But, of course, there was no way to perfectly bounce back. That was unrealistic. There was always going to be something to knock them off balance sometimes.
Cal noticed one of these things about Cain during one of his visits.
