“Man, you take things literally.”
“That wasn’t literal,” Aaron says. “Literal is believing figurative expressions or sarcasm. What you’re talking about is implication.”
“…yeah, exactly like that," Derek says.

Like impressionistic paintings, he says helpfully, offers the metaphor like a prayer, something familiar they might grab hold of.
So you can see, they say, and Matt sighs.
And people say autistics take things too literally.

Summary
She reaches for him and drags him forward until his face is buried on her shoulder, and he lets out a sound that’s somewhere between a yelp of shock and a choked sob, like he’s never needed to learn how to cry quietly before. Kyouka rests her chin on his head and breathes.
“I hate this,” he whispers, lips barely moving.
“It shouldn’t have happened,” she answers, quietly. She’s clumsy with this reassurance thing, but she tries her best. “We just have to — we need to trust that they’ll get him back. All Might’s there. It’s going to be fine.”
Kaminari chuckles a bit. “Yeah,” he says, and if he were anyone else, Kyouka would say he sounds bitter. “All Might always saves everyone.”
She doesn’t know what to say. No one’s taught her how to make things like these better. So she says, “Sometimes I think being a hero is too painful to justify it.”
Or, Jirou Kyouka grows into herself in a time of war. Featuring the mortifying ordeal of being known, the methodology of violence, and choices.

Summary
Roman just wants his toy Batman back; Connor stops eating cake in his room to save the kids from Logan and start parenting again.
“You’re back,” says Ken, his voice sounds weird. Sort of tiny and echoey.
“Ran out of cake,” says Con dryly which doesn’t make any sense at all. “Come on.” He kneels down and picks up Batman and twists his legs back the right way and folds his arms over his chest and then hands him to Roman. Con’s eyes are very blue and his light brown hair is sort of greasy and matted on his forehead and he’s smiling. “This is your little guy, right Rome?”

Summary
KIM KITSURAGI – “Chester’s… nonsense,” Kim’s voice echoes slightly in the half-empty storage room where you two have decided to eat lunch. “Why hasn’t it been a problem before?”
YOU – “Before what?”
KIM KITSURAGI – He answers you after taking a bite of salad. “On the other occasions you’ve worn women’s clothing to work.”
COMPOSURE [Challenging: Failure] – You nearly choke on your mouthful of sandwich.
YOU – “What? What other occasions?”
KIM KITSURAGI – He stares at you for a moment, his fork coming to a halt halfway to his mouth. “You wear women’s clothing… not frequently, but…”
ENDURANCE – You what?
