Summary
The mountains of Rattatak, the oceans of Serenno, Dathomir and its corpse-flowers and the leviathan which croons in its waters—all now lost to her. Asajj has never learned how to lay the dead to rest, only to mourn them.
One year after the Empire’s rise, the Inquisitorius has spread across the galaxy, hunting Force-sensitives to join their ranks. Asajj Ventress is in the middle of picking up a bounty when the Inquisitors come for her. Already an exile thrice over, she refuses to lose the fourth life she has carved for herself from the mire, least of all to some swanning upstart Darth who calls himself Vader.
The solution she finds is simple: to band with surviving Force users and take the Sith down. They should be easy enough to find; not a day goes by without whispers of Jedi clinging to life and insurgent rebels. There's a mechanic on Thabeska who tries to fix things long broken, a recluse on Tatooine with guilt heavy on his shoulders, a pawnbroker on Hosnian Prime with a dead woman's face. Surely some of them are willing to take up arms against Vader. Surely they share Asajj’s hate.
Little does she know how large Vader’s shadow looms for her new allies.

Summary
The mist hangs low over the forest here. It coils above the marsh, cloaking Asajj’s footprints as she slips between the branches, silent and ghostly. In the trees, a thousand species of insects nest, rattling and shrieking shrill. Lizards and quick-feathered birds dart among the leaves as they hunt each other for meat. The Force is cacophonous, full to bursting with life. She can’t even hear the emptiness beyond it.
Kenobi won’t sense her through the noise. Not until it is too late.
Ventress hunts Kenobi among the shadows. The stars above are distant and grieving.

Summary
Anakin can’t think beyond the ringing anger in his ears. The 501st are his men. His to protect. His to command. Krell doesn’t have the right to touch a single one of them. In this moment, the Force is the only thing that is real, the only voice he can hear, and its song is sweet and thick with salt. It promises him that he will be the one left breathing in the end, that he will protect his own—that he will not fail—that they are his, his, and this time—
This time, he will be allowed to keep them.
Anakin finds out how General Krell is treating his troops on Umbara. He doesn’t wait for the 501st’s return to act.

Summary
The cleric casts Silence on all of them so they can pass into the depths unnoticed. They slip between the stone gates of the Sharran ruins like ghosts and ride the rickety elevator down to the old forge, where crooning water laps at the remnants of the duergar’s docks. From there, they commandeer a ship to cross the lake. Har’oloth’s lakes are bitter with what the water holds, heavy enough with salt that ships float higher on the surface.
Minthara can taste it when they cross into her old home. They only ever venture into its outskirts, the impoverished places which lie tangent to the sun-bleached lands, but the air still turns lively, thick with rot, sweeter than any honeyed dates the surface has ever grown. Her teeth itch and ache with their longing for it.
(Five nights they spend on the shores of an Underdark lake; five conversations on home, requital, and all the things they give to the water.)

Summary
A casting of Silence would require trust, and trust is just as much a fantasy as an end to her exile. But Minthara imagines it nonetheless: stepping silently over the threshold, back to the realm she called her own for centuries. Breathing in its air, seeing its lambent blooms again, without feeling the pangs of a sinner's transformation. She imagines sitting beneath sussur branches and feeling whole again, even if only for a moment. Once she starts imagining, she cannot stop.
A homecoming without pain. A boon without a cost. A glittering, impossible thing.
An exploration of using the Silence exploit to bring Minthara back to the Underdark.

Summary
Hunted by the Emperor, Padmé Amidala needs a sanctuary for herself and her newborn twins. Asajj Ventress is an unlikely protector and Dathomir an even more unlikely sanctuary, but beggars can't be choosers. It's a sensible arrangement. Padmé certainly hadn't expected that she would ever care so much.
