Summary
“What were you consulting Master Obi-Wan about?”
“Tea!” says the other Padawan brightly. “I’m performing a tea ceremony for my Master, one that originates from her home world. It’ll be the first time I sit foveo with her!”
She says that word— foveo— as if it should mean something to Anakin.
It does not.
Anakin learns some things about the Jedi. He doesn't get it, until he kind of does.

Summary
“Anakin,” Obi-Wan repeated, voice quiet. “Who took you there?”
Anakin's mouth opened up, and nothing came out at first, just a tiny croak of air. But he concentrated on Obi-Wan’s warmth on his shoulder. This time, he forced the words out, like pushing air through a clogged pipe.
“Mr. Palpatine.”
And the moment it released into the air, he felt he’d just thrashed a gong the way the sound, as small as it was, filled their apartment. He swallowed as Obi-Wan stared at him.
“The Chancellor,” he said.
(Or: A distraught Anakin comes home from somewhere he shouldn't have been, Obi-Wan is concerned, and the world rights itself from their conversation. Also, f*** Palpatine.)

“You’re a fine knight, Anakin. I just wanted – to keep you close. For a little longer. Until the war was over, or at least until I could learn to—” a pause, “—let you go.”
Obi-Wan Kenobi was a father. He will always be a father, even when the boy he raised was no longer a boy.

"When he’s nine years old, the Jedi buy him from Watto.
Technically, Master Qui-gon wins Anakin in a bet. But the result’s no different all the same. The Jedi bought him, the Jedi won him, and he has to leave his mother behind."
