“Is this Mr. Buckley?“ an unfamiliar voice asks as soon as Buck picks up the phone.
“Y-yes,“ Buck gets out, choking a bit on the word. He takes a deep breath and tries again. “Yes, that’s me. How can I help you?“
“This is Melissa Clemens from El Paso high school. You’re listed as Christopher Diaz‘ second emergency contact and we can’t reach Mr. Diaz. Are you his other parent?“
Buck blinks. Blinks again. For a moment he feels an overwhelming amount of relief, because until this moment he hadn’t realized how much he had expected it to be a hospital calling. Then the panic sets in again.
He can’t help, because Chris is in Texas, and he is not. And he has no idea why Eddie isn’t picking up his phone.or, the one where Eddie isn't answering his phone and Buck goes to Texas.

With that, Louis channels every single Drama lesson he ever took in school, and starts walking towards Curly Angel, as his drunk brain has dubbed him in the past twenty seconds. It sounds at least a little less biblical than His Saviour.
And then, in lieu of a great conversation opener, he does the only thing his drunk brain can come up with. He grabs Curly Angel, pulls him close and kisses him.or, the one where Louis has to attend the most boring work party and Harry might be his way out of there.

No, that's the tragic part of this, the part that makes Harry feel like the universe is playing a cruel joke on him. The father of his baby is exactly right, exactly who he always imagined himself having kids with. He just imagined them married, bonded. Happy.
He didn't imagine them barely talking, tip-toeing around each other because neither of them is brave enough to talk about what happened between them. He didn't imagine the father of his child not loving him back.or, the one where Harry is having Louis' baby, but Louis doesn't know it's his.

Nothing much interesting happens in Harry's life, ever. Sure, some would – literally – kill to trade places with him at the palace. But being seventh in line for the throne comes with a set of annoying and boring responsibilities and none of the fun that the actual royal princes, Harry's cousins, get to have.
Except, maybe, for the fact that people seem to want to kill Harry on a daily basis.or, the one where Harry gets kidnapped and Louis rescues him. Kind of.

Buck absolutely does not get when Eddie’s saying.
But now Eddie’s looking at him with these imploring eyes — golden brown and gleaming — and Buck doesn’t want to do anything to disrupt this groove he’s in, not when he’s talking about what he wants, about things that make him happy.
So, “Yeah,” he says, and when Eddie smiles again, all relief, he knows it’s the right call.

“Buck told you we were divorced?” Eddie practically spits out, his lips doing a weird thing as if he doesn't know if he should laugh, cry, or curse her out.
“No! Well— I kinda assumed? I mean— It was implicit?” She tries to defend herself. “I didn't mean to sleep with your husband! I swear! I would never— That's just not the kind of person I am, y’know?”
Eddie, for the first time since Jules’ met him five minutes ago, seems flustered and at a loss for words. Jules, like the coward she is, takes that as her cue to get the hell out of there, slamming the door behind her and just starting to walk until she's far away from that house.

“Why are you acting like this isn’t a big deal?” His voice was raised, but he wasn’t yelling. “Buck, you have been living out of a storage unit for weeks! You’re in pain, you’re hungry, and you’re— You’re homeless. You have no home."
Eddie had such a way with words. You have no home. Very nice of him.
“What do you want me to do, Eddie?” He put the measuring cup down with enough force that it bounced to the floor. “Breakdown and cry? Get on my knees and beg someone for a loan? I took what I could.”
“No, you didn’t.” Eddie’s cursed index finger came up, pointing right at Buck’s chest. “Because you didn’t tell anyone! We would’ve helped you. I would’ve helped you.”
“I don’t want anyone’s help,” Buck pressed. “I got myself into this situation, and I can get myself out. I always do.”
Eddie held both his hands up, but they dropped as something dawned on him. Misery flooded his features. “You took over my lease.”
The last thing Buck wanted to do was make Eddie feel guilty. His decisions put him where he was— Nobody else’s. Still, his head fell. “Yeah, Eddie. I did.”
