“I know,” is Harry’s reply.
“How could you possibly know?”
Harry shrugs. “I tend to know things. Perk of the job.”
“And what is your job?”
Harry turns to him, green eyes light. “Keeper of the keys.”

Interesting world. I like the castle being treated as a 'cross roads' of sorts.
Lord/Lady Magic being Loki was a plot twist that was well done. I'm not sure if it was on purpose, but the ambiguity of Lord or Lady tying in to Loki's gender fluidity, so they aren't just strictly a Lord or Lady, was nice.
Harry getting a promotion was slightly... I don't know? Maybe this could be explained with a simple 'Loki fell through Space-Time to the perfect moment', or it was Fated that he would arrive like that? Or maybe some build up with one-liners of Lady Death being tired, bored, or hinting that now is the best time to 'pass the keys', per say.
Then again, it is a short story, so I'm being stupid nit-picky right now. I'm thinking too much.
Anyway, good story. I really enjoy the concept.Thank you for the story. ^^

"I can’t tonight, I’m busy,” he says, dragging his pen half-heartedly over a paper to lazily sign it.
"Busy with what?” House asks, incredulous. “Hosting a party in that shitty hotel room of yours? Got early reservations at the continental breakfast tomorrow?” Planning your suicide?

In which Wilson is suicidal, and House isn’t willing to let his best friend go. Enter Operation: Figure Out What The Fuck Is Wrong With James Wilson Before He Shoots Himself In The Head, in which his primary goal is to observe one James Wilson as closely as possible, determine the cause of Wilson’s suicidality, and remove it.
To the surprise of absolutely no one, Operation FOWTFIWWJWBHSHITH (conveniently shortened to Operation: WTF) does not go spectacularly.

Well done and well written! I liked the interactions, and the way their relationship is structured that saying the most unhinged stuff is actully comforting to the other.
As usual, I got curious after seeing the edits and fan art, so I came onto Ao3 to find some good food. This was delicious. I don't think this will suck me down the hyperfixation hole. I hope. I swear it won't. Not like Loki, Luna, Sonadow, Alastor, Catnap...? Yeah, please don't. I can't obsess over more. (I've never consumed anything official. Though, it's for the best. These companies tend to be repulsive, so its good I have fan content to support instead.)
Thank you very much for my first bookmark of this fandom. It's an honour. ^^
