Asking for help is admitting defeat. It’s a belief that is ingrained in Regina Mills's mind. It shows weakness as much as love does - that’s what her mother used to say. And Emma’s words might not have been phrased as a question, but something trickles down her spine in a pavlovian reaction as she suppresses the urge to curl her lip in a snarl.
They need her. And, god forbid that she’ll ever say it out loud, she needs them. The thrown-together rescue party that’s searching for her son in this overgrown fantasy forest.She hates it.
Or: Season 3 fix-it fic. Follow Regina's point of view, explore her thoughts and feelings and exhaustion as she struggles with everything that has happened to her right before their trip to Neverland in this canon-compliant fic. Read how she warms up to Emma, with known and beloved scenes expanded, explained, deepened and twisted into submission. Oh, and with new scenes because the Neverland arc deserved so much more, plus an entirely new ending because the original ending was just dumb.

Summary
An addition to 'Alternatively...'
I came across this in my harddrive and I really like the writing of it. There's no real point to it. I think it was written in response to the realisation that if Emma were a guy then there would be no way that he could go down into the mine after Henry and that left only one person small enough...never mind that if Hopper could get OUT then Graham could have gotten IN.
But I digress.
