Summary
It was dark, very dark. The sky was covered in a thick blanket of clouds, obscuring any and all moonlight. The street lights were dim and the air was still. No one walked along the street, not even the scurry of rats disturbed the calm total darkness. Gabriel liked it this way. The darkness hid him from the many eyes that followed him where ever he went, always watching, always whispering and laughing at him, taking up the voices of his old friends and haunting his every step. Under the cover of total darkness Gabriel wasn't Reaper anymore. Wasn't scarred and broken. He could pretend he was Gabriel Reyes again, simply walking home, where Jack would await him with a cup of hot coffee and a smile that made Gabriel's heart want to leap from his chest.

Summary
Jack had been sent away on a mission, leaving Gabriel alone for far too long. But Jack was coming home soon and Gabriel felt as if he sat down for one more second he would explode. He hadn't seen Jack in three weeks and now he would be home any minute. So he paced and paced, his mind racing with images of Jack being hurt or being swept away by someone better than Gabriel. Some nameless faceless man with a pretty smile that would woo Jack with soft words. Gabriel thought himself the best but under it all there was fear, fear that he wasn't. Fear that maybe he was too rough, his voice too harsh, that when Jack told him that he loved him he was lying. Only Jack could soothe those fears. Most thought Gabriel was controlling and kept Jack on a short leash but really it was Jack who pulled the strings. If he told Gabriel to jump, Gabriel would grit his teeth and ask how high.

Summary
To anyone that wasn't Jack and Gabriel themselves, it was obvious that Reyes and Morrison had serious unresolved sexual tension, and that they both were embarrassingly in love with each other. Between Gabriel's not so subtle song lyrics about blond hair and blue eyes and the way Jack's face turned scarlet whenever Gabriel so much as grunted in his direction. Amélie supposed she could deal with the pining, but the bickering and Gabriel's constant complaining about everything Jack did got on her every nerve. She had tried to get Reyes to admit his feeling for Morrison but to no avail, he was much too stubborn and Amélie suspected he enjoyed the dramatics of it all, since most of their recent songs had been about unrequited love.
