Negotiations for peace between the Autobot Commonwealth and the Decepticon Empire quickly go awry when Optimus Prime attacks Megatron and inexplicably forms a link with the Decepticon warlord. Neither party is happy with the situation, and failure to come to terms and cooperate with one another could mean not only their own deaths but a renewed war between their factions.

Summary
Optimus Prime has a lot of visions from the Matrix and tries to make them into reality, to make Cybertron better. Some succeeds, some not. But when a particular vision tells him how to avoid an eons long civil war that would end with their race in extinction - then he decides that no matter how strange or hard it is, he will make it so. Anything but those visions of energon-soaked battles and dead planet. Anything.
