Beomgyu lives a very lonely life in Styria, Austria with his father and two governesses. With his home isolated from the village, Beomgyu has nothing but his books to keep him occupied. But that all changes when one day, a carriage crashes outside of him home, causing a beautiful but strange young man to stay with Beomgyu and his father temporarily. Beomgyu feels that there is something off about their new guest, but his loneliness and desire for a new friend makes him willing to overlook it.
But when Beomgyu suddenly grows ill and believes he's caught the village plague-a virus that attacks young men and causes them to die of blood loss-their strange guest starts acting stranger. He's clingier and more affectionate towards Beomgyu, and Beomgyu will soon wish he hadn't overlooked the man's odd behavior.

Summary
The voice is gentle again, inviting, and Beomgyu feels like he left his mind at the window where he was made to spin and spin all for Yeonjun, only for him, like some resplendent nightmare of bruises and wax and burns. The firm pressure and the pace of the hand that hurts when it strikes but creates reveries on paper and pleasures in his skin, the voice that yells and fills itself with violence but hums and sings in the air like a seraph when he thinks no one is listening, coaxes him to say yes because Yeonjun feels good and because underneath the layers of rot and corruption something that feels like this to each of his senses can't be bad. Beomgyu nods as much as he can with Yeonjun's hand around this throat because somewhere it makes sense and somewhere he understands.
