Summary
Arc 6 AU: Rather than forcing a fight against Reid Astrea upon the [Sword of Selection] being taken up, the Second Examination tailors itself to challenge the challenger at their own game. It identifies the primary methods by which the challenger overcomes adversity, and forces them to confront the inevitable consequences and complexities that result from relying on those strategies. Thus, only those who can succeed even with the playing field rigged against them, their weaknesses targeted and exploited, may pass the trial of the Hero.
It's too bad, then, that Subaru is the challenger.
Stuck between a rock and a boss fight, trapped in a prison of their own sins and incompetence, Subaru and his friends will need to overcome themselves in more ways than one if they wish to escape and see another sunrise. And so, with surviving and living now mutually exclusive states of being, Natsuki Subaru Prepares to Die.
