Hesitantly, Zenaida offered up a casual smile. “Is there... anything else, Eris?”
”Just waiting for you to finish your tea, Your Majesty.”
Doing her best not to look uncomfortable as she was stared down by her own servant, Zenaida lifted the teacup from the saucer. Although it was highly improper for a queen, she tilted the cup up and let the rest of the tea trickle down her dry throat in one gulp.
Of course, because she was staring into the teacup at the time, Zenaida did not notice Eris barely biting back a sneer as she drank.
The last minutes of the Queen of Hyrule’s life, as told by me.

Messy and scared and disastrously selfish, but real. “That day at the Ozdust when we danced together was the closest I’d ever come to flying before I learned how. Because I was alone and scared and everyone hated me. But not you. You stood up for me. You saw me, if only for a second. So where are you now, Galinda? Where have you been? And why – why, if you love me… Why didn’t you come with me?”

“—and I’ve figured out that the easiest way to make you popular,” she continues amidst Elphaba’s protests, although she is secretly pleased at the attention, “is to have you date a popular person. And…who better than I!”
(Alternatively: In which Galinda has a plan. A genius and foolproof plan, one that could never fail, even when it’s concerning her gorgeous, beautiful, desperately oblivious, hopelessly clueless roommate and tentative friend.)

The lion cub gets his claws caught in her loose blond hair, and Galinda’s shriek goes up an octave.
“Stay still!” Elphaba winces. “Look, just — Galinda!”
