Summary
They don’t have any legal papers, they don’t have any money or food, but as Lydia drives for the first time to let Stiles get some rest, she realizes that none of it matters. It doesn’t matter because when she looks at his sleeping feature against the window, she catches glimpses of an eager hand caressing his cheek in the moonlight, as if the night or the Moon herself was reclaiming her due.
She won’t allow it.
Stiles starts the Jeep before the Ghost Riders can take him and Lydia is determined to save him.

"Me and Lydia… uhh. Lydia and I… we…." Scott looks at him impatiently. "We've been hanging out." He spits out hoping the simplicity of the statement will be enough to please Scott's curiosity. He was wrong.
"So this has been going on for weeks!??" He raises his voice and moving closer to his best friend. Despite his angry tone, Stiles sees a glimmer of excitement in his eyes.
"Going on? Scott, nothing's going on." Stiles clarifies with a quick shake of his head. "We aren't like- dating or anything."

-"I loved you then and I love you now. But I wish I didn't love you, I wish it didn't feel like this. Because I'm going out of my freaking mind without you Stiles. I literally don't want to live without you in my life. I can't even see or begin to imagine a life without you in it. I’m so in love with you, I just want you back" she cries, touching his headstone. Her head jolts back, as Lydia lets out an ear splitting scream, she's sure she's never screamed like that before.
She passes out next to her dead boyfriends grave. Whilst the pack rush to get back to where they just buried their pack mate, to get their broken banshee.
Lydia wakes up the next morning in her room, forcing her eyes open she realises her room is how it used to be back in sophomore year. Upon instinct she pulls her phone off her bedside table, and she realises something isn't right.

She’s looking into his eyes so urgently that Stiles is beginning to wonder if Lydia has a specific answer in mind. You, he thinks, aching. I’d regret not getting to talk to you anymore.
But that’s not one-hundred-percent it. That’s not everything. And there’s something else nudging at him, something that bleeds less than not getting to see Lydia every day. He can give that answer to her. The way he feels like he can’t breathe when he thinks about any version of consciousness in which Lydia Martin is unreachable to him? Yeah. That’s gotta be just for him.
“Um,” says Stiles. “I guess I would regret dying a virgin.”

No ‘hello.’ No, ‘I miss you.’ No ‘where did you get that fetching tie, darling?’ which doesn’t sound like Lydia in the first place, but hell, it wouldn’t kill her to say it every once in a while.
