"The sweltering, humid Louisiana sun makes its way across the sky, clouds pass by to give intermittent shade. The sound of a lawn mower and children’s screams fill the air. Randy swipes his wet hair out of his face and reaches for his glass of lemonade from the weathered white plastic table."

Summary
Randy had always hated the feeling of being sweaty. As a kid, he’d avoided athletics like the plague, and he was always the only person he knew to ever take an actual, full shower after gym class all through his middle and high school years. The feeling of having a dried layer of sweat trapping dirt and dry skin against himself made his skin crawl, and he’d often shower multiple times a day in the summer, scrubbing away the damp pungence like a snake crawling from its shed.
But as with most things in Randy’s life, that changed the moment Benson swept him out of their quiet, middle-of-nowhere existence and onto the road.

A simple sponging down of the boot, first, to remove any large clumps of mud (or blood). Then, saddle soap and a spritz of water on a stiff brush, for a methodical cleaning of every crack and crease. As with all things in his life, Hannibal carried out his task with measured precision and the quiet confidence of a man who is a master at his craft. His various grips on Will’s leg were perhaps a shade firmer than necessary, but Will wouldn’t begrudge him that.

Summary
This is a retelling of the story of Labyrinth, Hannigram-style. Will wakes from a 6 month coma to find that no one remembers his baby sister Abigail. A visit from a strange man calling himself the Goblin King plunges Will into a perplexing and often terrifying world, where he is racing the clock to solve the Labyrinth and rescue his sister and himself from the cold and aloof Hannibal, King of the Goblins. But the deeper in he gets, the more he realizes that this is not the Labyrinth he knows from the stories. This is not that Labyrinth at all.
