What’s left of the world is nightmares.
Long gone is the world of daydreams, the stuff of the History Teller’s stories when she speaks her sacred words to the huddled ears in the scraps of sunlight at the Gathering Place in the center of the hollow giants. She says she has the Texts, Namjoon says he’s not so sure. He can’t believe in a world before the nightmares, where the sun thing woke and slept with the people, where the green things could be pulled from the dirt at your feet, and the rivers flowed into homes in the sky.
The bones of the daydreams lie in broken heaps around them.

For the first time in all these years, he isn’t sure if they’re going to make it.
It feels like they’re about to snap. They can’t catch each other at the right time, leaving ever shortening voicemails until they don’t leave much of anything at all. 'Call me back'. It seems like every kakao message is read in the wrong tone, fights started where there was never meant to be a fight. It’s almost as bad as their pre-debut days, as if they’re back to being strangers.
The distance is too much. The time is too much.
Yoongi isn’t sure their relationship will last the winter at this rate.

It’s a little place bathed in warm lights on the corner of a darkened empty road, in the middle of a bustling city.
No one goes there, this place. It’s right there but when you look it’s way, your phone rings. Your mom is calling. You keep walking, answering the phone and explaining your weekend plans and why you can’t come to dinner on that particular night. The dark and empty street is blocks behind you and you’ve already forgotten you were trying to look at something in the first place.
