  Summary

  Hazel Gable, a sharecropper in the Mississippi Delta in 1930, wishes to go to Harlem to live out her dream of being heard and her music being shared. One of her many problems is that she doesn't have the money, and she's in debt, and she's grieving the loss of her family members, and she's in a situationship with a vampire.
