Summary
“Well, I’ll just have to be your new best mate to make up for it, won’t I?” Charles declared, grinning broadly at him.
Edwin smiled. It was funny how easily the sight of that smile eased the weight that had been sitting on his chest all day. It was like he was magic. Maybe he was. Charles had never believed in that kind of thing before, but if there was anything that could make him, it would be that soft smile on Edwin’s lips.
“I suppose as your newly appointed ‘best friend’,” Edwin said, a teasing lilt to his voice. “It is my duty to tell you to go home. I hate to say it, Charles, but you look horrible.”
Charles winced a little, but he still laughed. “Oh, fuck off. You don’t hate to say it. Humbling me is your favourite pastime.”
“Third favourite.” Edwin corrected.

Summary
Monty had run away to London to escape his mother. Falling in love had never been part of the plan. Especially not twice, and especially not with a pair of husbands who seemed determined to make Monty their friend whether he liked it or not.
So what if Charles smiled like he radiated sunlight, or if Edwin was so smart it made his head spin. They were perfect together, and Monty Finch was a lot of things, but a homewrecker was not one of them. He would get over his feelings one way or another.
If only these absurdly beautiful men would stop making that so difficult for him.

Summary
“If you aren't otherwise occupied, I would like to request your assistance in an experiment, of sorts.”
“‘Course. Love a good experiment, me.” Charles said, pushing himself up onto his usual seat on the desk, his legs knocking into Edwin’s gently as he swung them. “Big fan of science and all that.”
Edwin shot him a long look of fond exasperation, rolling his eyes before he turned to flip through his notebook. “I would like to conduct an experiment on ghost touch.”

Summary
Charles had said, within the depths of hell itself, that they were like Orpheus and Eurydice. He did not tell him that he had the wrong myth. Edwin did not feel like a Eurydice, and he most certainly did not feel like an Orpheus. Rather, he felt much more like Sisyphus. Eternally rolling a boulder up a hill.
One must imagine Sisyphus happy.

Summary
Ghosts, as a rule, did not get sick. Which is why, when Edwin had suddenly become exceptionally flushed and told Charles with full sincerity that he was about to pass out, it was really fucking concerning. He'd rattled off some instructions about not panicking and getting him back to the office and not putting him in the bag of tricks backpack “as it is liable to explode” before promptly collapsing.
Suffice to say he did not follow Edwin's instruction to not panic.
