    “Frosty,” Gricko verbally nudged him again.

    “Yes, Gricko?” He fought down a growl at his oblivious, irksome, friend. (He didn't usually mind Gricko's eccentric tendencies, but the sheer amount of quality time they had spent together circling their thoughts and opinions… He needed a break standard meditation could not provide.)

    The familiar aura of Frost’s magic swirled around him, and his yellow eyes and solemn face were stony with concentration. Suddenly, though, the spell broke, and his expression dropped into something filled with fear.
    “That’s not Gideon,” he called to Kremy, whose heart fell into his shoes. “There’s some sort of outside influence causing him to do this. It seems he believes the three of us are his enemies.”
    On the one hand, Kremy was relieved. If Gideon wasn’t in the pilot’s seat at the moment, it meant he was still in there somewhere, and he didn’t really want to kill them all. On the other hand, though, that meant Gideon wouldn’t hold back. He never did with those he felt deserved to be called his enemy.
