Summary
John is not so blind. He sees a lot more than he’s given credit for.
/
“Where?” Sherlock doesn’t bother to answer, shoving his arms into his coat and reaching for his scarf. “For how long?” John asks, because he can see it now. He can see how this is going to unfold, even if he cannot know the details. Sherlock pauses at the question, only for a second. He doesn’t meet John’s eye.

Need a canon-swap for the Fall? This is all in for TOGETHER IS BETTER! John isn't stupid, is quite sharp, and doesn't tumble for all the misdirection Sherlock's laying down. And he calls him on it! Yes!

Summary
It was such a simple question, one John had asked Sherlock countless times over the years. One he always ignored and rolled his eyes at. Snorted in amusement at.
But tonight, well, tonight Sherlock answered the seemingly simple question.
And the very much not simple answer almost ripped the heart straight out of John's ribcage.

Bookmarker's Notes
Very powerful, ultimately distressing as no relief in sight. Doesn't make it any the less true to the scene.

Second of two little fics written about Hermann and Newton. Very sweet within certain parameters of sci-boy sweetness. 😁😘Hope more comes from this author.

Summary
It all rushes back in a shimmering instant: the tether, the tension. The sense of ease, that steady pull of connection. It’s only them—nothing’s changed. Or everything has. (and god, either way—)

Bookmarker's Notes
Criminy, another glittering gem from the inimitable stopthat. Sherlock's POV trying to brace for whatever remains of the tether with John as he begins his return from Reichenbach. Will grab you. Reread repeatedly.
