Perfectly characterized; wonderfully simple prose, big feelings. I love the world and setting and vibe of the warehouse this author managed to craft in such a short piece. This is his favorite part of the day. When the sun and he are barely awake, sharing the room and slowly painting it with light.
He also loves watching Penny. She smiles in her sleep often, and he aches to know what she dreams of. That is, until she wakes up, because then her smile is a choice, and he knows it’s because of him.
Her eyes scan his face, blinking the sleep away slowly as she smiles. She brushes his curls back, and he softly runs his index finger down the center of her face, stopping at her nose with a small tap. Her smile widens. They explore each other’s features until she speaks.
“Good morning, Ricky.”

I remember reading this when it first came out and being absolutely on the edge of my seat. Still one of the best LB:MR fics out there; the evolution of everything, from the crimes to the relationships between the characters, feels like it was ripped straight from an angstier, grittier sequel to the game. You have to be crazy smart and skilled to come up with this stuff! Incredible work!! Still worth reading despite remaining unfinished as chapter 10 is still a great ending!
