“Tired?” Alberu echoed, pinching the bridge of his nose. “You just– Do you even realize what kind of uproar you've probably caused with just your.... " Alberu took a deep breath. "Is that supposed to be sleepwear?”
Cale blinked, a flicker of something that wasn't quite understanding, but rather a dawning recognition of Alberu’s peculiar priorities. “Uproar? I was sleeping. And then the ground shook, so I put up a shield. It's not like I would have had time to change anyway.”
“The human is right, Cookie Prince!” Raon’s voice, no longer magically transmitted now that they were alone, echoed in the room.
Alberu sighed, a long, drawn-out sound that only Cale seemed capable of eliciting. “Cale, you were wearing… well, you were barely wearing anything! A loose top tied with ribbons, exposing your entire back, in front of the King of Eldoria, his entire court, and our own delegation!”
