He reached up to adjust his scarf again, some of the tightness in his chest settling at the sensation of the familiar fabric. Days like this were always terrible for him; the days where all he could think about were the men he’d lost, where all he could hear were their screams as they were ruthlessly slaughtered, where all he could see was the blood pooling from their bodies. Not to mention the smell that had never left him… the smell of corpses, strewn all about him, overwhelming him to the point that he felt like he was suffocating.
This time, his thoughts had apparently decided to torture him on both Wind and Time, and they weren’t giving up, despite the fact that they’d done their job and made Warriors’s mental health deteriorate within less than two hours.
Suffice it to say, Warriors was of the opinion that whoever invented trauma deserved to go fuck themself.

Standing there, in the middle of the doorway, was Merlin. The sorcerer was covered head to toe in mud and gods-know-what-else from the stables. The sight wasn’t frightening on its own, but Arthur inhaled sharply in fear once he saw his lover’s face.
The king was convinced that if Merlin wasn’t as stupidly loyal to Arthur as he was, the sorcerer would’ve killed him long before now.
“Hello, my bird,” Arthur greeted him sweetly, shifting his mother's sigil from his left hand to his right behind his back. “I assume the stables have been cleaned?”

That’s when the wolf had returned, carrying something in its mouth. On closer inspection (aka, when it dropped it), it turned out to be a leaf full of different nuts. The wolf sat back on its haunches, tail wagging a bit, almost as if it was trying to thank Link.
Link had sighed heavily, slumping again. Oh, well.
or, link comes across a wounded wolf in the wild and quickly learns all isn’t as it seems
