Summary
Professor Vidal has always hated Professor Harkness. Agatha's teaching style was wild, chaotic, a party for each class. Rio on the other hand felt a classroom was a sacred space to learn. Not to have dance parties or comedy shows in. The two were opposites, enemies in each other's eyes.
However, one night- Rio finds herself crying in the ice cream aisle after being stood up by her date. To make matters worse? Agatha Harkness finds her there.

Summary
"Are you alright?" the gardener asked, pulling Agatha from her moment of admiration with a voice that held genuine concern.
“Oh yes, yes, I’m quite fine. Thank you…” Agatha replied, narrowing her eyes, her unspoken challenge hanging in the air as she subtly awaited the other woman to reveal her name.
“Rio, Rio Vidal,” the gardener responded, a warm smile gracing her lips as she extended her hand.
Agatha felt a flutter within her at the sound of that name, a lyrical quality that danced on her tongue.
“Thank you, Rio, for quite literally saving my life. I suppose I’ll have to make a habit of needing rescued whenever you’re around,” she said, her smile attempting to exude sultriness, even as a pang of self-doubt threatened to overshadow her boldness.

Summary
Agatha stopped mid sentence, looking between Nicky and Rio in confusion. “Nicky, how do you know Rio?”
Nicky, completely unaware of any extra awkwardness, answered. “She’s my birth-mother.”
Agatha’s eyes widened as she looked between them again, and Rio knew what she was seeing— the same face shape, the same nose and cheeks and smile, the same eyes. Rio didn’t need a DNA test or paperwork to prove what she could easily see with her own eyes, and she could tell that Agatha didn’t either.
“Hi,” Rio said finally, though the greeting felt extremely inadequate as soon as it left her lips. But there wasn’t exactly a guidebook to this whole awkward situation.
What exactly do you say when the adoptive mother of your biological son is also the woman you fucked last Friday?

Summary
It only takes a moment for Rio to morph her features back into nonchalance, but it’s enough time for Agatha to note down her surprise, causing her to break out into a cruel smirk, “What? Familiar’s got your tongue?”.
She has hundreds, if not millions of things she would like to say to the woman at the end of her blade. But none of them can take precedence over the creeping burn of petals lodged in Rio's throat.
❀
Rio has never loved in moderation, in fact, she’s never even loved before she met Agatha. So there’s no reason why she should be shocked when her lungs start sprouting flowers after their separation.
