As Remus Lupin tries to deal with his grief in a world that doesn't accept him, Emmeline Vance works at the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, as she firmly believes in a fair legal system for everyone.
Her belief is tested, however, when she gets assigned Sirius Black's case. Having to listen to his lies herself is one thing, but she can't let him hurt Remus even more than he already has.Uses Emmeline's perspective, but focuses heavily on the relationship between Sirius and Remus.
