Summary

Summary
The Wardens and their party spend some time at Redcliffe Castle after healing Arl Eamon, and Elissa helps Alistair come to grips with becoming king some day, as well as makes good on something teased last time. Before the night is done, their futures will have a much different outlook than when they began.
She couldn’t agree with Eamon, surely?
“Alistair…” she reached for his arm, but he shrugged her off.
“No! No, you can’t possibly think that’s a good idea. I don’t know the first thing about being king! I don’t want it!” he protested.
Her eyes were sad, but her mouth was set firmly in a line, resigned. “There is no one else. Do you want Anora to remain on the throne, to let Loghain continue ruling Ferelden?”
He ground his teeth at the thought of that treasonous murderer controlling their homeland. “Of course not, but… but…” His ire dissolved and his face fell, defeated. “Maker, there isn’t anyone else. This is going to be a disaster.”

Summary
Alistair's meeting with Goldanna did not go as intended, and he tries to work through his issues with Elissa.
There were several long moments where he tried to wrangle the maelstrom in his head into concrete phrases, and not just inane banter about cheese or lampposts or other nonsense. Even he knew that some things were too important to joke about. “I want to finally feel like I have some control.” He couldn't hold her gaze – it was too raw, too real, too much. “I need to know I’m not worthless,” he whispered.
“You’ve never been worthless,” she said with a surprising amount of fervor. “I’ll always need you with me.” She stretched up on her toes for a kiss, but she didn’t close the final distance between them. “And if you want control, you can have it with me.”

Summary
This is it, my friends. They finally do the deed. But before they can, Alistair has to deal with a bit of jealousy over the time Elissa is spending with everyone's favorite Crow.
“If Zevran were spending time with my beloved, I would be worried. It is natural to feel these things.” She gently placed a hand on his knee, her face infuriatingly placid when compared with his own unease. She’d never reminded him of the Sisters that had helped raise him before, but now he felt like he was fourteen again and about to be given some sort of confusing and incomprehensible life lesson wrapped up with a vaguely relevant verse of the Chant. “But you do not need to be,” Leliana’s soft tones interrupted his rumination. “She loves you, you know.”
At that, he smiled just a little. “I know.”
She gave his knee a squeeze before she stood to leave. “You say that, but I can tell you don’t truly believe it. Not yet. I’m sure you will soon, however.” And with that incredibly cryptic and unhelpful statement, she left him sitting alone and even more adrift than before.

Cullen has been forced into proximity with the Hero of Ferelden and that spells danger for his sanity, as he cannot help but be attracted to the man: his sweet smile, his cheerful demeanor, his terrible jokes... Cullen doesn't know how Alistair broke through the careful and respectful distance that Cullen carefully curates between himself and everyone else, but now he can't help but think of Alistair, day and night. He's not sure how much longer he can take this torture of being so close to the man without knowing if Alistair would ever be romantically interested in an ex-templar.
Alistair is in love with Cullen, but he's a complete idiot around the man. Not only that, but he's pretty certain Cullen doesn't see him that way.
A Universe Alteration in which everyone in the Inquisition ships it.
