It was like something out of a shoujo manga, complete with glitter, a pink glow, and rose petals fluttering around her.

Summary
It's their senior year. Izuku, Katsuki and Shoto are allowed on what was supposed to be a short, easy mission—all by themselves. But when things take a turn, Izuku is kidnapped and there's nothing the others can do but wait to save him. When he finally returns, his relationship with Katsuki starts to muddle. And, well, let's just say that's where the real story begins.
Alternatively, neither of them realizes just how much they need each other until they're being forcibly torn apart.
"Stay close," Katsuki muttered, stepping closer to Izuku so he could better protect him. Izuku grit his teeth. He wasn't enjoying feeling like a damsel, but really...what other choice did they have? In their current situation, they were severely and quite utterly fucked.
"You have to leave me," Izuku blurted as the creatures closed in. Katsuki was now accounting for both of their backs—Izuku couldn't even stand himself upright. He was a liability. Useless. Katsuki had to leave him—it was the only way.
"You'd best shut up now, Deku. I'm not leaving," Katsuki shot back furiously. "And don't you ever even think about suggesting that again."- Language:

Summary
Injury assessment: several cracked ribs, possible internal damage, a dislocated shoulder, a completely broken hand, an even more broken ego. Katsuki can barely breathe at this point, and his heart is beating so fast that it can’t be healthy with his condition. He realizes with horror and a dropping stomach that he might actually die from this. He might actually get taken out, not by the hands of a monster or a villain, but by the hands of the person he loves most in his life.
That’s somehow worse.Alternatively: Izuku is caught by a villain's mind-control quirk, so strong that not even One For All can break him away from it. The villain is desperate to run away, so to create a distraction, he gives Izuku only one order: that he should kill his partner and boyfriend Dynamight. It's up to Katsuki to face the consequences of that.

Dear god I’m emotional. I just love the characterization of the characters here, and how nuanced their emotional journeys are. Even seeing how Young Bakugo was holding those insecurities about being forgotten or left behind, and seeing how his fears and his isolation early on became exacerbated in the future. The overly-neat nature of his dorm room morphing through years and heartbreak and trauma into a sterile office and barren home in the future…. just the foreshadowing of his loneliness was really clever and well-thought of. Gosh, this broke my heart and then patched it back up. This is the Edgeshot of fanfics!!!! (Really great job, I loved reading this! Thank you for writing!!!)
