Summary
Thor and his friends return safely from a disastrous visit to the realm of the dwarfs. At first, they think nothing of it when Loki does not return with them - Thor's younger brother is quick and clever, and always has a way out of trouble when trouble presents itself. Of course, Loki will be along in a little while.
Loki does eventually return, but none of them could have predicted the state he returned in. Thor, much as he wants to help his wounded, bloodied brother, finds himself at a loss as to what to do. For the first time in longer than he can remember, his hands are shaking, and steady hands are needed to free the stitches from Loki's mouth.
For the first time in longer than he can remember, Thor calls to his mother to help, because Loki can't even cry out. Frigga comes running, and with steady hands, helps puts her beloved youngest child back together.
