Perhaps Kanan had connected to these wolves, through the Force that binds all of them together, eventually leading Ezra to Dume. Then, with his guidance, he had helped to prevent the Empire from acquiring a most terrible weapon, protecting him and Lothal even in death.
“Thank you, Kanan,” he whispers.
But the Loth-wolf doesn’t take its leave.
