    Her cross glints in the light as her chest rises, giving her away. Try as she might to stay level-headed and clear, her breath could never lie. Mulder can feel the heat radiating off her body as his eyes trail down her body.

    “You smell delicious,” he whispers, sliding his hand around her waist, palm flat against her stomach, breathing in her perfume. He presses against her back, all but wrapped in her scent - creamy and floral - as he toys with a button on her blouse with his other hand. She can’t hide and she knows it.

    “Mulder–” she begins, her voice thin as she turns to face him.

    He puts his hands against the cabinet behind her, staring so intensely at her mouth that Scully practically gasps. Her breathing is high and shallow and she feels lightheaded almost immediately, presented with no choice but to lean back against the cold metal of the filing cabinet and stare up at Mulder. Instinctually she breathes through her mouth, plush lips parting, as he moves closer, though how much closer they could be without being on each other was a mystery.

    He watches the blush creep across her face as he pauses less than an inch from her. “Yes, Scully?”
