A few concerns, about the person Nohara Rin was before she died: Why did she know how to transplant eyes so well? Why was she always smiling like that? Why did she collect shells? Why did she choose to kill herself using Kakashi instead of any of the other conveniently placed enemies who were actively trying to kill her at the moment? And most pressingly of all, who was she?
It's a mystery outside the scope of what Columbo usually deals with, but seeing as the mystery of who killed her and how has already been solved, he'll take it on.

“Gin-san,” Shinpachi has started saying. “I just don’t understand why you’ve been so depressed, lately. I wish you would talk to us about it- you know we’re willing to help, however we can!”
Where did he get that idea from?! Gintoki clears his throat and sets the record straight very patiently, very authoritatively.
“I’m not depressed, Patsuan, I just have a little less energy and find less enjoyment in things I used to like.”
“That’s a symptom!”
It’s a shame that Shinpachi can’t identify depression in people very well. He’s listing off advice that would be very useful if Gintoki was depressed, things about being open about your struggles and seeking help. Gintoki isn’t depressed, though. Shinpachi should probably not become a therapist.
or: a food shortage and all the talk around it might have sent Gintoki spiraling, if he was the kind of person who thought about his issues at all ever. He's not, though, and so he's fine.
