Summary
Players are of the Universe, loved by the Universe, living within the Universe. They build, explore, die, live, mine, and craft.
Watchers are not of the Universe. Watchers come from beyond it. There are many ideas of what they are, legends of what they have done, and theories for why they seem fascinated with Players; but little is actually understood about them by the general populace.
For the curious Players, this is as an in depth guide as we can be into the nature of Players, Watchers and how they interact with one another.

It was especially a problem, because Torchy seemed determined to follow him everywhere he went.
“Of course he would want to follow you.” Jimmy beamed. “You make so many funny little sounds when you work.”
“No, I don’t!”
“Tango, yesterday you went around the entire house repeating ‘dunga dunga’ for almost ten minutes.”
Okay, so maybe he did make some odd noises. It came with living alone for so many years. When there was no one else to talk to, he talked to himself. Was it that interesting? He sighed, glaring down at the chick in his lap while he pulled on one of Tango’s buttons. “You’re a lot more trouble than the chickens.”

“Where’s Tango?”
Impulse glanced around, noting the absence of his teammate before shrugging. “Probably out with Jimmy, if I had to guess.” He stretched with a soft groan. Man, it would’ve been nice if this version gave them something more than their old outfits.
Ren looked scandalized. “Wh– He’s– Tango is what?” he sputtered, marching to the pyramid’s entrance like he expected to catch them mid-tryst. “You’re telling me he’s conspiring with the enemy, and we’re just letting it happen?”
Impulse blinked, caught between a laugh and a sigh. “I’m guessing they’re just catching up? If he’s doing the same thing he did in Limited Life, then… yeah. Get ready for him to leave early and not come home till late.”
He dusted off his knees, then added with a crooked smile, “Or for Jimmy to show up here. It’s just their thing. "

“You’re warm,” Jimmy whispered disbelievingly. “It’s this cold out here and you’re hot.”
“Well, I- thank you!” Tango laughed in an effort to stave off his own surprise. Was Jimmy really so frigid that even Tango could feel it? He knew he felt his soulmate’s shivers in his bones, but he didn’t know it was this bad. “I’d like to think I’m pretty attractive myself.”
“No, not like that,” Jimmy said, and then he paused. “I mean, you’re stunning, I’m sure-“
“You’re cool too!”
“-but I think my eyes are frozen over,” Jimmy finished. He scowled at Tango’s pun. “That wasn’t funny! I think I have hypothermia!”

Summary
It had been one year since Jimmy broke the magebond with his former witch and left the cottage behind.
One year since he was last able to perform a full familiar shift, his canary form beyond his reach.
One year since he joined the Southlands Coven at Grian’s invitation.
One week since a healing crystal experiment blew up the coven's keep.
One week since Grian and Martyn found out he couldn’t transform properly, and four days since they’d sent him off to attune.
One day since Jimmy had arrived in town, and half a day since he started his hike into the woods.
Half an hour since he’d attempted an attunement.
Ten minutes since a monster cornered him in a clearing.
Five minutes since a stranger saved his life.(Eleven months since Jimmy had spoken Scott’s name.)
OR: A misadventure in the woods leads to a night spent at a stranger’s campsite, an unexpected friendship, the swapping of life stories, a lesson in magic, and the beginning of something entirely unexpected...not necessarily in that order.

Hels if I know, I don’t know a lick about magic. That was more Impy’s area of expertise…”
For what seemed like the umpteenth time since meeting Tango that night, Jimmy found himself staring gobsmacked at the semi-stranger in front of him. He didn’t know much about magic…? What in the world was Tango even–
“But you’re a witch,” he said bluntly, and Tango paused, shooting him an incredulous, amused look. He let out a confused giggle, his brow furrowing with his smile.
“What?” He tilted his head. “What, you mean the flameification? The fire? That’s just netherborn stuff. I’m a blaze hybrid, it’s what we do.”
“No - no, that–” Jimmy shook his head. He was only half paying attention as Tango separated half of the meat and vegetables onto a second plate and pressed it into Jimmy’s hands. The tin plate only survived gravity thanks to some sort of muscle memory on Jimmy’s part to automatically grab what he’d been handed. “I felt the magic in your flames. That’s witch magic. It’s a bit different, but it’s definitely a witch’s magic.”

Connor doesn’t answer immediately; the quiet envelops them for 13.27 seconds. When he speaks, his voice is low, doubtful, with an undercurrent of something darker. "I am directly responsible for a number of deaths, human and android, on this mission alone. I know the orders came from Cyberlife, but I’ve followed them without question."
Stress levels 10%. A frown pulls at Shea’s face. Mindful of his hands placed precisely on his knees, he eyes Connor intently. You’ve followed orders but never without questions, and actually, you’ve always been pretty shit at following orders even from the beginning. The clock light casts a green hue across the curve of Connor’s cheek as he turns his head to look at Shea, a matching frown on his face. The hostage mission in August – you treated the downed officer so he wouldn’t bleed out. It had no bearing on the mission itself.
The mission parameters necessitated working alongside SWAT members on-site, Connor counters firmly. Treating Officer Wilson positively impacted the likelihood of cooperation from Captain Allen, while establishing a baseline with the deviant.
It may have agrees Shea blandly. And the fish?
