    What happens if Dru was in the Magic Box the evening everyone forgot who they were (s6, Tabula Rasa), and she forgets who she is as well? All that suffering melts away, leaving a woman who sees enough of the future to know, she can’t get her past back. She could be happy, starting a new life as Juliet Giles, with her possible-husband Randy.

    Deep down, she needs to know what brought them here.

    Like that, it was over. One moment, they were in the sewers, rats in a cage, or perhaps a maze. She could predict what they’d do next, and found herself relying on Tara to keep moving with the group, while scanning for next moves.

    She was still arm in arm with Tara when they all heard the crystal snap under Willow’s boot.

    Time stood still.

    Tara gasped, and she reached out with her mind, but when she tried to read it, it was as though she’d stuck her hand in a hose. She didn’t get clear images.

    Her stomach sank.

    Oh no.

    Before she could see any more, she was thrown forcefully back into her own mind, by what could only be described as the feeling of being held under.
