George had never slept in Florida before. It should be pretty easy in theory. He was comfy enough, warm enough, tired enough, he was definitely tired enough, he’d been up for over twenty-one hours, it was quiet enough, he’d had the best day ever… But there was something about being alone after the excitement of the day, thinking about his future in the Dream Team house, missing Dream so much because those first eight or nine hours together hadn’t felt like enough… that just rendered him completely unable to sleep.

Summary
George stumbles across a stressed and emotional Dream who hasn’t slept recently. George knows that Dream never listens when anyone tells him to go to bed, and so he takes on the task of planting the thought in his mind, taking him there, and encouraging him, without ever saying the words. George does have to take a few steps outside of his comfort zone when it comes to emotions, but it’s Dream.

It has Dream turning, face hardly visible in the faint light. “Are you okay?”
No. He wants to scream. No, I miss you. Tell me you miss me too. He swallows thickly, but his voice still shakes. Breaks. “I don’t know.”
“George,” he whispers, knows. He was a fool to think Dream wouldn’t notice as soon as he opened his mouth.
Or,
George is still traumatized from being alone in the UK. He doesn't talk about it, but after a nightmare, he needs to assure himself it's all in his head.
Luckily, Dream is just down the hall.

if you told george that by the end of tonight he’d be sitting with cuts on his face, a bloody nose, and a black eye after getting into a nasty fight, he would’ve laughed in your face and called you insane.
but sometimes life isn’t life without a little bit of insanity.
in his defense, he tried to be nice. he tried to walk away. but sometimes people just don’t know how to shut the fuck up.
