Summary
Siegfried's been doing the work of three vets for weeks, and hardly sleeping at night isn't helping any. Really, he just wants a hug - wants to curl up in a patch of sunlight and be hugged back together. But there's only one of him and the work for three, and the works got to be done. He's going to have to turn and face reality soon, Audrey will make sure of it.

Summary
Set during the nebulous time between the outbreak of war and the boys return to Skeldale. When it's just Siegfried, Audrey and Helen in the house. They somehow find the time - between tramping about the muddy dales, bouncing between Heston Grange and Skeldale, being carted off to ridiculous air warden "duties", and myriad other things - to have complicated interpersonal relations.
In short, they're living together, loving together and laughing together.......
