Martin, mid-trolley, rolls his eyes. The gesture he makes at the shelves around him is only emphasised by the book he’s holding.
“What exactly do you think I do here, other than sit around and wait for angry patrons to yell at me?”
“Think of what you’re going to yell back?” Jon says, and Martin’s mouth twitches into a smile.

I’ll repeat that in case you didn’t catch it. She. Requested. Tim. And I. Personally! I wish you could have seen the look on Elias’ face when he had to come down and tell me. I’ve never seen him so pissed!”
Annabelle laughs on the other end of the line, “Good job, just a few more months and our web will be spun, I imagine.”
Jon nods even though she can’t see him. He cannot wait to see what threads he can spin between the tight knit group that will be the archival team. He kicks his ankles back and forth in the air, tracing the pattern of his comforter with his freshly manicured nails
Or rather: The fic where Jon is a really shitty spider and likes to cause problems on purpose. Nobody talks about how hard it is to look shy and demure when you're actually quite hot.
