Summary
Techno's normal patrons are few and far between. Most days it's a group of fishermen unwinding their muscles with Techno's steamed potatoes, or a couple of the downtown customers stopping by for a drink and some good music. Sometimes, on the good days, it's a group of rowdy university students who haven't quite escaped home or some tourists on a poorly planned vacation.
But the patrons of his diner are never children.
or, in which Techno, the small-town owner of a diner, meets Tommy, a foster kid new to the seaside scene. As they grow closer, Techno unravels the knot that is Tommy's past, as well as confronting some memories of his own.

From this angle, Mariana is a good two or three inches taller than him, and Charlie can see every imperfection in his face. The black beauty mark pressed cutely beneath his left eye. The faded pockmarks skimming his cheeks like old stars. One stray eyelash tumbling down his cheekbone, stuck there.
Mindlessly, he reaches a finger out to brush it away. Mariana stills under his touch, breath heating the pads of his thumb. Dizzily, Charlie recalls that the clock ticks somewhere, but he’s too far underwater to hear it.
“There,” he says, lifting the eyelash up to Mariana’s lips. “Make a wish.”
They hold eye contact for what seems like years, two bodies just barely on the edge of touching in an empty laundromat. Quiet and sacred and altogether beautiful.
Maybe being in love isn’t too bad.

Escape Attempt 16 goes a little something like this:
A man walks into Alcatraz with one goal in mind, and only one goal in mind. His husband-to-be is locked up for murder, and he is going to get him out. Because Roier is a man in love, and Cell is going to love him back if it's the last thing he does.
But first, Cell says, he needs to go find some old friends and let them know he's out of prison. He's sure they'll be happy to see him. They were supposed to escape together, after all. He just got... left behind.
Roier has been waiting all his life to find his soulmate, he can wait a few more weeks to marry him. By then, Cell might even love him back, and won't that be wonderful?
