It takes years before Steph sits up straight, suddenly, at her desk, and throws up right across her spread of chemistry notes as it hits her. As she realizes exactly what she didn't have the knowings to know.
She is four, she is six, she is fifteen, she is eight. She is twelve and she is a thousand years old.
She is body and fear and shaking and spell-speaking, and when her teacher waves a hand in front of her face, Stephanie lunges out of the chair, neck over ass over teakettle over heels, melting onto the floor, crashing under the wave. Steph scrambles to the door. No hall pass. No permission. She is out of the building running with no words to be found before anyone can snatch her, grab her, dig their nails in high up on her arm. She runs for the only place this body can think to run--without her, carrying her.
Her body takes her home.

Dick's having a rough time possibly with something that's happened with the Titans and/or Batman's newest Robin, Jason Todd. Clark's not sure, but his home is always open to Dick and so Dick takes advantage. During a weekend in Metropolis, he says something that sticks with Clark-something Clark wishes he could forget.
Dick probably wishes he could forget it too.
