Sara and Felice chatted in the front, their voices raised against the din of the wind flowing through the rolled-down windows. Simon’s curls flicked back and forth in it, ruffling his appearance further, leaving him messy and imperfect in his sheer joy. Wille felt on top of the world. He didn’t need a hundred different palaces or a crown of solid gold - he needed this, right here, soft and real and true in a way nothing else ever had been.
