He’d been struck by lightning, dangling in the air like a fish on a line. Eventually, his luck had to run out. He was just one man, but if it ended like this, using everything he’d learned and all the strength he’d fought for to get his friends to safety, then he’d die a happy man.
He heard Ravi’s yell of confirmation that they’d made it out the other side, and he shifted back. He let the weight fall once more, and then he watched as the entire world caved in on top of him.
