Summary
“Shinobu mentioned you were sick."
“Perhaps. It’s a persistent cough.”
Shinazugawa grunted, “No shit. It sounded like you were vomiting your lungs out at the meeting.”
“Allergies,” Tomioka offered.
“Allergies that have gone on for over a month? And gotten progressively worse?” Sanemi asked, and Giyuu could tell the Wind Pillar was looking at him now, watching him. He should’ve known Shinobu would spill.
He sighed. “Look, it’s nothing.”
“No, it’s not. Your performance today was terrible, especially as we got into the late afternoon. It’s affecting your fighting.”
“Maybe I’m out of practice.”
Sanemi took a step forward, “Cut the shit, Tomioka. What’s going on with you?”

Summary
The plan went exactly as he had hoped. He put a bullet through Jung-bae's heart and thoroughly destroyed what little fight remained in Seong Gi-hun.
It almost felt too easy, like capturing the King in only three moves.
And then he surged awake.

Summary
Tecchou shook his head, “I haven’t had a chance to see you act yet. Besides the shoot just now, I’ve never seen you get in character. I was hoping to see that.”
Jouno’s breath caught a little. “Oh.” There’s a brief lull in the conversation. “The only thing you missed was a conversation about the color I was dyeing my hair next.”
“What were the options?”
“Mint. And gray.”
Tecchou seemed to scrutinize Jouno for a moment, as if trying to figure out which color would fit him best. “I’m partial to the red, personally. If you ask me, you should keep it that way.”
“That’s what I was thinking, but I’m beginning to consider the mint…”
Tecchou shrugged, “I’ll always be on the red team. It’s my favorite color, you know?”
Jouno’s mouth twisted up slightly, “Then maybe I’ll keep it red just for you.”

Summary
“Jouno,” she asked, her tone childish and curious, “Do you have a soulmate?”
“A soulmate?” he responded. His tone was sour, slightly more so than usual, but Teruko didn’t seem to notice.
She nodded, “Yes! A soulmate.” There was a pause, “You know what those are, right?”
“Yes!” he snapped.
She huffed, arms crossing on top of his head. He winced as his hat was squished underneath Teruko’s weight. “Have you met yours?”
“No, Vice Captain. It’s a bit difficult to tell.”
“Oh. Yeah, I guess so.” Jouno thought the conversation was going to end there, but Teruko opened her mouth and hesitated before asking one last thing. “What do you think of Tecchou?”
