Because if they have found her– if they caught her unawares, whilst she was bathing– he should have been there, he should have insisted he stay with her. Especially now.
She’s only recently returned from a contract in Nevarra – some noble who learned the truth of King Markus and whom the Mourn Watch needed silenced – that left her exhausted and spent. She had returned and kissed him soundly on the mouth before declaring her intention to take the longest bath ever recorded in Thedas and disappearing into the bathing chamber.

“Straight from that shop you like,” he says gently, placing the box down on her lap so she can quickly untie the ribbon and pull it open. Within, fresh slices of Rivaini and Antivan fruits drizzled with hardened chocolate neatly arranged in a beautiful spiral greet her. She squeals and reaches immediately for one of the thick chunks of mango, popping it into her mouth with a dreamy moan. It’s tart and sweet and juice drips from her lips and her fingers as she chews and swallows down the delectable treat. She sucks the sugar from her fingers and reaches for another piece, this time a thick strawberry dipped in what looks like dark Antivan chocolate.
“How did you–”
“I know you, my darling. And,” he smiles, blue eyes soft with unconcealed affection– there is no need to hide it here when it is just the two of them. “I need no excuse to spoil my wife.” His fingers linger on her belly as she happily gorges herself on the fresh fruit he has spent a small fortune on.

He is notoriously difficult to buy for – his tastes are expensive and varied, and even with Ashara being his second-in-command and Teia a Talon in her own right, they had struggled to find something they both felt was of reasonable quality and that Viago would truly cherish. Until–
“Let me gift him you, principessa,” Teia murmured over her glass of wine, cheeks flushed cherry-dark – and oh, Ashara wants to kiss those cheeks desperately. But she tilts her head at one of her lovers with a quizzical look on her face.
“Eh?”
“If I dose you with one of his aphrodisiacs and leave you tied up, pretty as a portrait, on his bed, I think that may be the name-day to end all name-days.”

Summary
Illario enjoys exploring sex with Bellara, and that's absolutely all that's happening here. She finds a scene in at an orgy and wants to experience it, Illario is totally fine with helping out.
The system works for them, a give and take that is more enjoyable than he expected, even if he has to wait for her to finish visiting with Lucanis or Rook before she comes to see him. He knows exactly where he stands with her - too guileless and straight-forward to attempt any of the mind games he's used to from partners. It's refreshing in a way, or at least it should be, but the easiness of her smiles grates on him. He's never been one to leave well enough alone, to not ask for a little bit more no matter how many times he learns that lesson.
