Summary
Karai let out a sob, an ugly, drawn out sound that shook her entire body. Shinigami paused her movements and, after a moment, tipped her head forwards. Once again, Karai let her, and her forehead collided with Shinigami's.
They stayed like that, unmoving safe for the shaking of Karai's body, and breathed the same air. Shinigami didn't say anything, didn't try to convince her that everything was okay when it clearly wasn't, she just pressed their heads together and patiently waited as Karai fell apart.

Summary
A new warmth spread over him as the sun regained it's ability to beam down on scales and shell, and he took a minute to let out a long breath. Despite having spent sixteen years on smooth, concrete terrain, a small part of him had to admit that, at times, the peace of the forest granted a strangely natural calm.
After all, it might not have been the forest itself that he hated. It might have just been his own weakness. Still, not something he was willing to divulgue to even himself.
The new calm zipped far from his being when he spotted a brown and green body lying amongst the grass. Arms and legs were extended like he'd begun a snow angel but got bored halfway through the process. There was a startled moment of pause, and then Donnie realized that he wasn't breathing.
"Leo!"
