There’s no words, nothing necessary as Jace turns to look at him, his eyes dark and burning, and then he’s dropping his blade and striding forward to catch Simon in his arms, his grip vice-like as he squeezes him and buries his face in Simon’s shoulder. Jace is inhaling raggedly, his shoulders shaking minutely as Simon slides his hands up Jace’s back and splays his fingers over Jace’s spine, thumb smoothing over the dips and curves of it.

Summary

Navigating uncharted territory, Quan Yizhen experiences jealousy for the first time. Yin Yu, though oblivious as to his source of angst, finds himself worried and tries his best to reassure him through it all, even if it requires him to truly express his feelings through (gasp!) words.

Yin Yu dies, which obviously means he gets a new chance to live, plus a vacation, which in turn means he has, perhaps, too much free time to think. And of course, he ends up thinking about Quan Yizhen. Yin Yu is thus confronted with the horrifying ordeal of being known, being seen, and talking about himself.
And, well, after more than a century of running away, maybe it’s finally time to start walking back home, even if that road is thorny and full of painful memories he had spent a whole lifetime trying to forget.
