After Maomao saved Jinshi from nearly being crushed to death by a falling beam, there were still a lot of questions that needed answering. But more importantly, Maomao still had a lot of healing to do. Suiren said she needed fifteen stitches in her leg, but it's her head that seems to be giving her the most trouble...
Meanwhile, Jinshi can't believe just how close he'd come to losing her. Nor can he believe how little she seems to think of the whole affair.

Marinette has a full plate. School. Her apprenticeship. Working part time for her parents. Being the savior of Paris. She can't imagine giving any of it up, but sometimes she wishes she could be like any other girl her age and have some fun. Go out with her friends and fall in love. It's too bad the one man who could understand what its like to juggle real life responsibilities and being a superhero doesn't want her anymore.
Adrien thought that taking time off school would help him figure out what he wanted out of life. He thought that moving out on his own would give him the freedom to see his friends more. Instead he spends his days working for his father, doing patrols around the city, and hoping one of the few friends he still talks to has a day free. What is he supposed to do when the one person he could always count on seeing leaves him behind too?

The carving on the jadeite was minimal but exquisite, from the hint of thick veins running up the shaft to the gentle curve of the proud head; its ridges and valleys a facsimile of life. Had Maomao guessed, when she procured it from the Verdigris house, that he would keep such a thing for himself? Would she think it base of him to resort to these means? It would only denigrate him further in her mind. Jinshi hoped she at least had a suspicion.
