There are very few things in the multiverse that can truly scare Bill Cipher. He’s been around far longer than nearly all the inhabitants of it, and he’s so powerful the mere concept of him as a being would make the more inferior one’s brains implode. So, there’s not much that can put the fear of Axolotl in him.
Today, however, he found one of the exceptions.
Because today, Stanford Filbrick Pines had a brain aneurism rupture.
And Bill isn’t entirely certain he’s ever going to wake up again.
And that fucking terrifies Bill.

He’s sitting at the edge of a weak spot in the fabric of reality, lightly skipping rocks across the surface of time-space. His posture looks relaxed, but it’s not. It’s perfectly calculated stillness.
“You’re not my Ford,” he says.
This interloper Ford looks at him. His beard is stupid. He’s glad his Ford hasn’t grown a beard that stupid.
“My Bill is going to die tomorrow,” beard Ford says.

Summary
Bill Cipher, against all odds and without his own knowledge, has fallen in love. Unfortunately for Stanford Pines, Bill has no idea how to love something that isn’t himself. When Ford tries to sever their relationship, Bill decides he needs to get creative in order to prevent Ford from leaving him. He would ensure nothing, not even Ford's own stubborn attempts, could ever tear them apart.
Bill edits Ford's memories and blames it on McGucket. Set just before Ford can send the postcard.

Summary
Stanford Pines and Bill Cipher are impossibly entangled with one another, like a knot beyond unraveling. To break the bond between them would require cutting the knot out entirely, severing a large portion of each of them in the process.
Or, Stanford knows about the barrier keeping Weirdmageddon contained prior to being captured, changing the course of the apocalypse. Statement Abnegation is a psychological horror novel following the complicated relationship between an imprisoned Ford Pines and his captor.
