    Spidey slumps in his hospital bed, knees pulled to his chest so he can hide his face in them.

    “In honor of our very own Webhead’s TWENTY FIRST birthday, he spent the past week formulating a.. drug… thing to temporarily slow the roll of his radioactive alcohol tolerance. And since he didn’t tell anyone about it,” Wade continues as all eyes turn to Spidey, who cringes despite not being able to see. “No one thought to look for him until he was caught fishing dirty spandex out of a dumpster so he could, and I quote, ‘pretend to be Spider-Man.’”

    Or, the one where Peter tries to get drunk, fails, embarrasses himself, successfully gets drunk, and winds up on Wade's dick (in that order).

    Stiles sighs through his nose and takes a couple of steps away, to the other side of the alley where there’s a brick wall and a dumpster, and not much else. “Well, sure, okay, but what are you suggesting? That we load up the car and go off in search of someplace she’s only maybe, possibly been?”

    This is a ludicrous idea, of course it is, but when Stiles looks at Derek, he can tell that this, this absolutely absurd suggestion, is exactly what Derek thinks. It is exactly what he came here to ask Stiles to do. “I’ve traced her scent to the next town over, so I have a start.”

    “Oh, Christ, Derek,” Stiles practically finishes his beer in one go, downing it quickly, because he needs that alcohol in his system if he’s really going to entertain this idea. “You realize that would be days, possibly weeks of being in a car alone with me? Me. Derek, me. Stiles Stilinski. A witch.”

    Derek’s jaw is set, his eyes intense, his shoulders taught with tension. “Yeah. I have weighed the pros and cons of this.”

    This now marks the third time I have read this work. I absolutely love when SIAND does Werewolf Derek and Witch Stiles. Something I thought about this time around is that this story aaaalmost seems like it would have been the same universe as Dead Things if Stiles' father had not died.

    SIAND continuously makes stories that I absolutely become obsessed with. The plots are always interesting and exciting, but I think this out of any of the works that I can think of is the most... poetic. It reads like a beautiful painting that you just need to spend time unraveling.

    Spoilers:
    I think it's interesting that a lot of SIAND's works about soul mates are very different from the standard. They tend to explore the consequences of soul mates. While this is not technically a soul mates fic, the fated familiar aspect of it is actually very similar. So in a way this is the most traditional soul mates fic SIAND has :P I do like the inclusion of some lore with saying that some where long ago there were ancestors that were drawn to each other and they are reincarnations drawn to each other from that attraction. It makes it more romantic to me that it's not just some random dude he has no choice but to be enmeshed with. This is love so strong that it traversed from one life into another and will likely continue to do so. It's a cosmic love. It's just really beautiful.

There's something about Stiles that Derek finds fascinating, and before long the two become embroiled in each other's lives.
    Despite the threat to his life and the sudden upheaval of everything he's ever known, Stiles is having a hard time feeling too upset about that.

    Don't read all my tags to avoid spoilers!

    This is such a fantastic read. A little light on the Sterek though it IS a main plot point. It's a must read for anyone who enjoys a magic au and a slow sweet romance. Derek is a more composed version of himself who has gone through therapy. "He’s such a marshmallow that he has to even it out by dressing like a dirty criminal." Stiles has more dimension to him with the magic, but he's still silly, quirky Stiles.
