Except, there are flowers known for growing in difficult terrains, flowers that are unsightly, rough, persistent, lasting through winters, reborn every year. All it took was a little seed, a little gift, a little acknowledgement, and strong roots had bloomed in his heart. His chest was small, his blood poured often, so those flowers blossomed. Fucking snapdragons of all flowers. The first time Jaehyun coughed little skull shaped petals, he felt his eyes burn and vision blur, because he could not be that sentimental, life could not be that taunting. Except, it can, it is. Snapdragons can grow until they are over 75cm in length, that means that even after their prime, even after years had passed, even after that love had been long gone, like the ghost of a bruise, he still coughs them every spring and every summer.
And it was distressing, knowing he was made of regrets. Knowing that he could divide his life into then and now, the past he regrets and the new memories he builds every new day with Johnny.
