Solo Wing Pixy had seen a lot of things, knew a few too many people, heard more than enough rumors- it came with the job after all.
But, despite that, it never stopped him from being curious whenever something especially weird popped up on his radar, especially with people. So when his new wingman makes an appearance, Pixy can't help but find himself being pulled in by his lack of care for.. anything, really. By the mysterious past and hidden motives he clung as close to his chest as he could manage.
Just like him.
Maybe Pixy should have realized exactly what their similarities meant from the start, maybe he didn't want to.
Maybe this was how it was always meant to be.

PJ wants to propose. He thinks of Delilah’s sharp grin and clever eyes, amber voice crooning a gentle murmur into his ears, nimble hands running across PJ’s cheeks. And of Isaac’s expectant gaze, amused shake of his head, hearty laughter and calloused palms, cupping PJ’s hands in his own. What else could he ever want?
PJ was not Pixy. He could be named Galm two for as long as he’d like, but that would never replace the emptiness left in his squadron leader’s heart.
If Pixy made one more angsty reference to Cipher, PJ was going to find a gun and shoot him in the foot.
PJ wants to propose.

Summary
What happens when you see the end of a war you weren't supposed to survive?
You keep moving, of course. So Cipher kept moving, kept living, because what else was there to do? He carved out a nice little space for himself in a mostly normal life that people like him could only ever dream of having- if they ever dreamed of it at all.
The ghosts are still there, of course, and it's easy enough to let them pass as time goes on.
But what happens when one suddenly comes back from the grave a decade later?
