Summary
Welded to the wall. Chained in the basement. When people say they have a dark past, what they mean, nine times out of ten, is that they trapped a bug inside a jar and forgot to poke holes in the lid. If Jihyo were to ever say that she has a dark past, Sana would know she means that she was the bug.
Of course, Jihyo would never say that. Dangerous people don’t go around telling people they’re dangerous, she says, dryly, once, as they’re watching some show with an utterly unbearable male lead.

Summary
“Tzuyu-yah,” Chaeyoung says later, coaxing a spoonful of fried rice into her mouth. A piece of chicken falls from it; Kaya is on it before it can be saved. “It’s okay. Dahyun unnie was nice about it, wasn’t she?”
Tzuyu miserably thinks back to the morning. Dahyun’s face had gone through several stages of mild bafflement before finally settling on an expression that best displayed the unique mixture of consternation and pity that could only come from having to reject someone without making them feel worse about it than they absolutely had to.
“Tzuyu,” she’d said, right after Tzuyu had held out a massive bar of chocolate in her direction (took all of three weeks’ savings) in her direction and stammered out a SunbaeIlikeyouwillyougoonadatewithme with her head firmly bowed. “I — I appreciate it, but, I’m sorry, I. I can’t, um—”
Or: Tzuyu likes Dahyun, Dahyun likes Sana, Sana likes Jihyo and really, Tzuyu had always thought geometry was a little bitch -

“I don’t know, I’m worrying about what I’m going to watch tomorrow while I’m eating breakfast.” It comes tumbling out of her mouth. In her peripheral vision, a hand enters holding the bill; Sana smoothly hands over a card in return. “And this stupid watch has been telling me to move around every two hours and I’m still like a thousand steps away from completing my goals for the day. Also, I can’t stop thinking about an hour ago when I pointed out how late you were, down to the second, like some sort of idiot, and obviously it doesn’t matter because there probably won’t be a second date anyway because I’m not meant for dating and you’re too arrogant, although I kinda get that because if I looked like you did, hoo boy…..”
Sana’s mouth falls open.
“I’ve said too much, haven’t I?”Or:
Everyone's convinced that Sana and Jihyo would be perfect for each other. Everyone except Jihyo. -

One minute, she was settling down, a glass of sake in hand and a pen in the other because there were stars glinting over the night sky and it made her itch to talk to Jihyo, the next the words Some days I miss you so much I imagine you’re just out on a walk at the beach and all I have to do is wait for you to come back to me were staring up at her. Then she read over the whole thing again — discovered the most ardent of sentences, placed one after another on the page, wrapped up in all of the longing she contained within herself — and buried her head in her hands for almost fifteen minutes because she was mortified.
(Not because the words existed, but because they managed to make their way out. She’s known they’ve been building up inside her from the minute she started revolving around Jihyo like a distant planet quietly enamored with a blazing star)

“Listen.” When Jiwoo pauses, one finger in the air, the woman murmurs Sooyoung. Jiwoo finds her annoying, right from the fancy buttons on her leather jacket right down to her high heeled sneakers. “Sooyoung ssi. I don’t know what kind of life you’ve lived so far that has you walking into places and bossing people around, but I feel like you need a little reality check from people who aren’t your minions—”
Here are all the things stopping Jiwoo from having a peaceful life - two political rivals who occasionally make out in the back of her café, one bad girl determined to get on her nerves, her best friend hiding things, and her staff handling their complicated love lives, very, very badly. Or, politics, romance and kitchen disasters dance circles around each other in a queer café in Hongdae.

“See, that's the thing.” Rio's voice took on an oddly gleeful tone. “I can't kill anyone right now. I quit.”
That got Agatha's attention. Her head snapped up, eyes narrowing as she took in Rio's appearance. Death looked... different. Still draped in her usual black attire, but there was something more solid about her presence. More... mortal.
“You what?”
“Quit! Resigned. Took early retirement. Put in my two weeks' notice, whatever. Except I didn't actually give notice, I just stopped showing up.” Rio beamed.
